So . . . I have this friend

And her name is Yolanda. She's marrying her fiancee Edwin in December and I'm a bridesmaid. (the man in the photo is not Edwin, just some waiter we met in Paris last year.) The wedding is taking place in Accra and so - this is how I started researching volunteering opportunities in Ghana. I found Linking Cultures through a Google search, they posted a position for a volunteer music therapist at the Autism Awareness care and Training Centre in Accra. And so . . . through divine design I'll be working with kids with autism on the other side of the globe.

That really is a very cool miracle. As I've grown older (oy!), I've really come to realize that when something is truly meant to be, everything works to make it happen.

I think what you are doing is truely awesome. I have been a member of Bethel for over 6yrs and I am the single mother of a 12y.o. daughter w/Autism. Speicfically Aspergers Syndrome &/or PDD/NOS. (Depending on which Dr. you ask). I tried many times to get her into music therapy for her special needs including her ADHD and ODD but it is very expensive and insurance does not cover. These children are very blessed to have you and I'm sure you'll find that they you will be blessed by them even more so. You will definately be in my prayers. Take care and God Bless.
